Well, it was fun while it lasted: Coble out at least 4-6 weeks

UPDATED: NU athletic department source says Coble will see a foot specialist this week to determine the true length of time out.

Sources from the NU athletic department told Spread Far The Fame that Kevin Coble has a serious foot injury and is out at least 4-6 weeks. The release is incredibly vague, leading people to more speculation. The results of what we believe is an MRI will be available Friday.  Not to scare anyone, but Coble could be out for the year.

This is what we all get for being happy Ricky Stanzi got hurt.  Karma is a bitch.

We don’t talk a lot about basketball on this blog, but this is fitting, and also somewhat humorous. Not for Kevin Coble, but for those that actually believed Northwestern could make the NCAA Tournament. I’m saying they still can, but it’s going to be much more difficult if they have a horrible non-conference part of the season.

Again, if I’m Bill Carmody, I’m pissed and probably crying. NU needed to win basically every game in the non-conference part of the schedule. That includes Notre Dame and Butler to secure some “quality wins” for those blowhards on the bracket committee.
